Partly agree, but having a lover like that – one that constantly reminds you of your failures, as she does earlier- would suck to begin with. If your partner has a demanding occupation- especially if they’re doing something like putting their life on the line on a daily basis to help people that are refugees- you need to accept that they’re going to be busy a lot,and that they’ll be a little drained sometimes even when they do see you. Once you do that, either take it on yourself to make time to fit their schedule, since you’re the one with the free time and energy, or accept that the person isn’t the right fit for you, and cut them free without accusing them of “failing” you. True neglect is one thing, but people in high-stress jobs need a bit of grace.

Sorry for the mini rant: The good characterization inspired it 🙂 .I can definitely see people like Sara and Jeremy play out their relationship like this. This is making me appreciate my own gracious gf more, and encouraging me to be more understanding of her crazy hospital hours.

Hmm, indeed. It would be really bad if they weren’t meant for each other and had shared *cough*intimate time with each other. They, more specifically he, would have to remember that for the rest of their lives. Especially awkward when they’re with someone else. That’s the point of my comment. 🙂

Yes, she definitely should cut Jeremy some slack. Still, her demands aren’t entirely without base… The two of them are, after all, in a relationship but Jeremy doesn’t seem to act like it! He needs to show more love to Sara. It would be great if their relationship did work out. ^_^

Good luck with your girlfriend. If “crazy hospital hours” means she is a nurse, I can completely understand that. I swear, hospital work is overworking my sister to death! (On the bright side though, they do pay her for all that time. Heh heh.) >:)
